DSD acquires Supply Renewables' New York Neighborhood Solar Portfolio
Distributed Solar Development (DSD) has acquired a 17 MW community solar portfolio with three projects from Source Renewables, a New York-based developer focused on community solar.
The three projects, one of which includes Solar + Storage, were developed by Greenfield's Source Renewables and are expected to go into commercial operation next summer.
"DSD was drawn to the Source Renewables team for its focused and disciplined approach to solar development, corporate strategy and ability to manage solar assets in the community once they are operational," said Lauren Craft, director of asset acquisitions at DSD. "We look forward to further projects from the 85 MW pipeline that Source Renewables has in development."
The three projects are to be continued with the installation this winter. Utah-based Mill Creek Engineering is responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction. The portfolio comprises three separate New York properties in Chautauqua, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties. The Oswego County location is supported by up to 8,000 kWh of Energy Storage Service (ESS).
The project is supported by government funding and incentives from the New York Agency for Energy Development and Research (NYSERDA) – including the MW Block and BESS incentive programs.
Source Power Co., a community solar customer management platform, manages the subscription and ongoing customer relationships for the projects.
