Australia’s top solar installers were recognized at the inaugural SolarQuotes Awards event at the Showtime Events Center in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Who is Australia’s best solar installer?

RESINC Solar was named the best solar installer in the country and secured the SolarQuotes Customer Choice Award for 2025.

Based on a weighted average of customer reviews on the SolarQuotes rating platform, the company ranked first among thousands of installers.

RESINC has an unrivaled five-star average rating from 1,966 reviews on its SolarQuotes reviews page.

RESINC is based in Wyong but operates across NSW, Queensland and Victoria. It has managed to maintain its reputation for quality as the company expands across the country and has plans to move into WA and the ACT.

How RESINC achieves both quality and quantity

RESINC founder Leigh Storr speaks after winning the SolarQuotes Customer Choice Award.

As RESINC founder Leigh Storr stepped forward to accept the award, a member of the crowd shouted “What’s your secret?”, to which Storr said he didn’t believe there was “a real secret other than getting to the customer after installation.”

“We view solar energy as a lifelong partnership with a customer’s system to maximize its results year after year… I think your future business is to keep engaging with your customers, even if all you get out of it is helping your customers,” Storr said.

It’s a clear theme in RESINC’s reviews, with customers consistently highlighting post-service care.

“I was blown away by the service. The whole thing was a really easy process, whenever we have a question they have the answer. We love that they monitor the system for us, there was a fault in our system that we didn’t even know about and they went above and beyond to fix it,” Jillian wrote in a review after having a 13kW Longi solar system installed by RESINC.

Trevor Glen, general manager of SolarQuotes, said RESINC featured “amazing consistency with a process that is second to none.”

RESINC had secured a nomination for the national award after being recognized as the top rated installer in NSW. Other state and territory winners nominated for the national award included:

The award was open to all installers in Australia, including those not part of the SolarQuotes network.

RESINC wasn’t the only winner at the awards ceremony, there were several other categories up for grabs. The Best On Ground Award – the country’s installers selected by Rob Moffa, who oversees SolarQuotes’ customer operations – went to Melbourne-based Lightning Energy. Rob said: “Luke and his team embody the spirit of teamwork, providing professionalism and quality service that defines the SolarQuotes network.”

Meanwhile, the Origin MVP award went to Victorian installation company Limitless Energy, with Duncan Permezel – Origin Executive General Manager of Consumer & Property – praising the company’s “quality installations” and “proactive engagement with pilot programs”.

A question of trust

The awards ceremony was also used as a springboard to promote the benefits of joining the SolarQuotes network for solar installers. Origin Electrification General Manager Chris Zondanos gave installers access to exclusive training, marketing toolkits, referral incentives and products for their customers, including a range of new EV charging and battery plans, as well as the existing Solar Partner Plus plan with a capped feed-in tariff of 12 cents.

The evening began with a conversation between SolarQuotes founder Finn Peacock and Origin Executive General Manager of Retail Jon Briskin about Finn’s decision to sell SolarQuotes to Origin last year, where the energy transition is next, and advice for installers. Finn explained that what ultimately matters for solar companies is maintaining customer trust.

“When that trust breaks down, it just takes a lot of time, a lot of money and a lot of emotional heartache. So the best plumbers just maintain that trust and do everything they can to build it and realize what it’s worth,” Finn said.
