Solis celebrates 20 years of solar inverter production

Forever, 20 years have been in the solar manufacturing industry and last for the Chinese inverter manufacturer Solis to achieve quite a performance. But is Solis Gear good?

Solis produces private, commercial and industrial (C&I)- and supply-solar inverter as well as hybrid and battery inverter solutions. The company has more than 4,500 employees worldwide. Around 800 of Solis are research and development staff.

The history of the company began with the establishment of its overarching Ginlong technologies in Ningbo, Zhejiang, from Wang Yiming, after demolishing a doctoral student at Bristol University in Great Britain. He remains the CEO of Solis today.

Third place for inverter deliveries worldwide

In 2024, another important milestone for the company with 100 GW+ cumulative programs was reached in September last year. The company’s pace of production has accelerated sharply in recent years – in 2020 it only collected 15 GW of capacity delivered. So 15 years for the first 15 GW and more than 85 GW in the 5 years since then.

In Wood Mackenzies Global inverter -Supplement -Ranking for 2024 the company was again in third place. But there is a large gap between Solis and the Top -2 players -Huawei (nowadays in Australia) and the sun woman, with both companies having shipping over the entire 20 years last year.

The future of Solis in Australia will continue for the foreseeable future.

“Here in Australia we are proud to be part of this global story,” says the company. “From houses to companies, every solis installation is a step towards clean energy and a stronger commitment to our communities and our environment. Many thanks to our Australian partners, installers and customers who are part of these developing screen. We will continue to introduce Australia’s transition to a greener morning.”

Is Solis a good selection of inverter?

Solis entered the Australian market around 2011, so that its equipment had enough time under the often hard conditions of Australia. One of the attractive aspects for Australian solar buyers is price – cheap without being cheap and evil. Although the Shonky installation can form the breakfast of a dog itself with the best inverters.

And the price difference is significant. For example, an inverter from Solis S5-GR1P6K (6 kW) costs around $ 1,700 cheaper than an Austrian Fonius Primo Gen24 6 KW unit.

You can see how the pricing and specifications of Soli’s interverters stack against a number of other brands on the solar quotes solar inverter comparison table (string inverter) or compare hybrid inverter.

The opinion of Solarquotes founder Finn Peacock from Solis:

“A solar inverter is the working animal of a solar power system. It is advisable to get the best of the best if you can. However, if you have a short budget, I recommend it to recommend solis inverter that generally kept well under Australian conditions. And if things go wrong, there is a decent guarantee that is secured by local support.”

In Australia, the inverter of Solis under 110 kW was accompanied by a 10-year guarantee if they were bought on or after January 1, 2024 and 10 years for inverters under 20 kW since 2021. Inverters have a guarantee of 5 years before this purchase.

Extended guarantee options up to 20 years can be bought online for all Solis inverter products. I am not sure of the costs, but 20 years could be exaggerated-a good sun inheritance judge should last between 10 and 15 years and the solis guarantee has dozens of exclusions, including if a defect is the result of a normal wear.

Solis is currently listed as a inverter brand recommended by solar quotas. At the time of publication, Australian customer reviews of Solis Verlichter were on average 4.5 stars on solar quotes, based on 348 reviews in total and 4.6 stars in the past 12 months.
