URE, New Vitality Fairness carry three Minnesota Neighborhood Solar Gardens on-line
United Renewable Energy (URE), a national engineering, procurement, and construction company, and New Energy Equity, a company that develops and finances solar power generation facilities, announce the addition of three new community solar gardens to Minnesota's solar development portfolio to have.
The three projects in North Branch, Lindstrom and Cokato have a total output of more than 4.3 MW direct current and are expected to produce 5,980 MWh of energy in the first year. The energy is offered on subscription to local businesses and school districts. Subscribers receive billing credits from the utility company for the energy produced by the gardens, allowing them to take advantage of solar energy without the need to buy, maintain, or have solar panels on their own premises.
"We are focused on delivering the safest, highest quality, most affordable solar and energy storage systems overall," said Keith Herbs, executive vice president of URE. "This project portfolio with New Energy Equity is an excellent example of a successful partnership that continues to bring benefits to host communities and subscribers."
Kenyon Energy, developer, owner and operator of solar energy projects, will finance the projects on a permanent basis. URE was responsible for engineering, procurement and construction. New Energy Equity developed the three communal solar gardens.
