Solar Liberty project gets tax breaks in Evans – Buffalo News
A $20.8 million solar energy project in the Town of Evans got a green light for $4.1 million in tax breaks from the Erie County Industrial Development Agency.
Construction will take seven months. Upon completion, Solar Liberty would then sell the project to Houston-based Catalyze Holdings, which would operate it.
Under its new renewable energy policy, which includes solar, the ECIDA approved $3.62 million in property tax savings over 20 years and $525,000 in sales tax relief for the project, the costs of which include $11.4 million in manufacturing equipment and $6.6 million in non-manufacturing equipment, plus $1.9 million in infrastructure expenses.
