Pylon updates the Observer Solar Design Instrument with 3D shading simulations
Pylon, a developer of software that provides high-resolution aerial imagery for solar proposals, says it is bringing full 3D shading simulations to market as part of a major update to the Pylon Observer solar design tool.
For the first time, solar planners can remotely evaluate year-round shading information for a specific location with just a few clicks. The company says Pylon Observer makes it easy to visualize how shadows move throughout the day and year – allowing designers to calculate power output in minutes without a site visit. Pylon 3D also meets the compliance requirements of industry bodies. Solar retailers can now provide consumers with precise shading losses in their written contracts in accordance with industry codes.
"Pylon 3D is designed to take the guesswork out of sun protection," said Nelson Zheng, CEO of Pylon. "Everything in running a solar company was changed by technology, but installers still had to be on site to accurately assess the shading."
The new 3D shading function extends Pylon Observer's solar design toolkit and offers additional functions for the high-resolution aerial images that are included in their standard projects. It follows Pylon's latest product development in easy-to-generate single-line diagrams.
