Canadian Solar begins mass manufacturing of 665W modules
Canadian Solar Inc., manufacturer of photovoltaic solar modules, has started mass production of high-performance modules with an output of up to 665W.
The new generation of monofacial HiKu7 and bifacial BiHiKu7 modules are based on 210mm cells and are designed to deliver competitive, balanced electricity costs (LCOE) by lowering the system balance (BOS) and other costs for solar power plants. The modules have been optimized with tracker and inverter designs to ensure seamless installation of solar systems, the company said.
The production capacity of the HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 modules indicated on the nameplate will reach 10 GW by the end of the year, a large part of which has already been booked. The company will deliver the first batch of the new high-performance, high-efficiency modules this month.
The modules HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 offer:
- Power classes of up to 665 W and module efficiencies of up to 21.4%
- Further reduction of light and elevated temperature degradation (LeTID) using CSAR (Canadian Solar Advanced Regeneration) technology. The technology reduces the deterioration in the performance of cells and modules under light and at high temperatures, increases the performance of solar modules and extends their service life
- Excellent value for commercial and utility scale PV systems, reducing the balance of system cost by up to 5.7% and LCOE by up to 8.9% compared to traditional 445W modules
- Certified by VDE according to the product standards IEC61215 and IEC61730
