Solar analytics users who are plagued by exit

Solar Analytics has long offered some of the best energy monitoring software on the market, but some customers have been plagued by exceptions and poor customer care recently. We examined what’s going on.

We were longtime fans of solar analytics that offer a solar monitoring app that offers users insight into their solar, the ability to diagnose errors and control to optimize performance.

However, a handful of solar analysis customers have recently turned to us for turbulence in their once trusted software.

A customer who asked to be called Krubi had problems, including exceptions that were also reported to us by other solar analytics users.

“We have had solar analytics for more than 6 years ago and until about 8 months ago it was great-it enabled us to monitor our use and generation in a near-real period,” she told solar quotations.

“Since SA was bought up by Catch Power, the performance has dropped dramatically, noticeably, since the move from 3G to 4 g now have a system communication error that usually require 2 or 3 restarts to get it up again. Even if the system works. Decisions.

Solar analytics points the finger to 3G

About 12 months ago, Catch Power solar analytics were taken over, which meant that the subscription business model, which found prolongers of pastors as difficult, was no longer a problem. The characteristic of the hardware for catch control provided both a constant economic basis for the service and a number of additional functions for catch control devices.

We turned to solar analytics, with a representative claim that the dropouts were connected to the shutdown of the 3G network, not with the recording by Catch Power, but made it clear that the LAG problems that Krubi reported was not a problem that they had previously seen.

When the 3G network closes, the bandwidth is redistributed what the entire point of the company is. This means that the limited radio spectrum can be better used by wireless devices.

However, it means that old reliable 4G positions with solid signal strength are made marginal. The new lack of signal strength causes failure and stained service.

There is not a single pain point in which several companies, networks, different generations of SIM cards and access contracts are involved.

Solar Analytics recommends that people affect people add a hi-gain antenna or an upgrade to a catch control system, for which the company offers an RRP discount of 50% discount for existing solar analytics customers and lowers the installed costs for a phase to around $ 400.

If you buy CatchControl, there are no ongoing subscription costs for one of your apps. You will receive analyzes free of charge, including the retail plan.

Catch Control also has its own surveillance portal called Monacle. The only thing that offers me a willingness that your network has activated dynamic limitation or emergency bakery.

The shutdown of 3G in favor of 4G and 5G caused a number of problems for some solar analysis.

An unfortunate customer

However, the recommended corrections were not much help for Krabi.

“We have already installed a high profit antenna (yes, simply DIY) with only limited improvement. We have two neighboring properties (duplexes) and have installed with high profit antennas on the roof of each. In any case, a minimum improvement through the antennas were carried out.

“It is not clear to me how I could access the discount for the Catch Control. I searched the website and found nothing about the discount for existing solar analysis, I can find something on the solar analytics website.”

The customer service also disintegrates

Solar analytics customers not only have failures in technology, they also have them in customer service.

Several customers told us that despite several complaints about the problems they have experienced, they hardly received an answer.

I have also submitted complaints about unanswered tickets or long delays for many other companies in the sector – these problems extend over the solar industry. Catch Power recruited and all other manufacturers of the solar industry to bring more people on board.

Better watch Wattwatchers

Solar analytics that were used to award the actual hardware that we have installed in Switchboards from Wattwatchers, and in my experience this hardware has happened to come into the air for years.

I remember that I lively pulled one out of a switching board in a childcare center in which a hole was burned. The inner work had implemented itself, and luckily nothing else was damaged in addition to a sum of an adjacent circuit breaker.

Unfortunately, some continue to fail, but Wattwatchers still make them in Australia and send them out.

We have a good authority that delays and poor service bring your business elsewhere if things don’t improve soon. This reminds me that I have to pursue one of my own units that never came back from a guarantee claim.

The only picture I have from a DIN Rail Mounted Analytics unit that was only taken to record serial numbers. The other side had burned a hole.

Top technology tip: If your analytics device plays and you want to reset it by switching off again, you have to be patient. 30 seconds is not enough to switch these units completely, even if the lights go out on the device, keep the functionality to drive through short power failures. Turn it off and come back 5 minutes later to do it again.

The figures can be a fairly eye irrigation if they have 200 kW solar in a nursing home.

Still a useful tool

Although some customers are confronted, I personally still find solar analytics as a useful tool. For example, we recently had a customer with a sun problem. The cause was some large trees on the middle strip, but the symptoms were mainly about perception. While the installer had gone over and higher to deliver a great system, consumers existed in terms of their performance, which could simply not be released by the installer, the inverter manufacturer or my own judgment. Having an independent source of truth was a great help.

Solar analytics is ideal for individual or fleet monitoring with a unique ability to compare the performance for your system with others in the district. This means that the respective weather becomes part of the calculation through its location.

I have already written about places such as nursing homes that can save thousands of dollars per quarter if they only draw attention to surveillance.

Analytics does not send false warnings if the network carries out random restrictions for flexible exports or backstop control, but it will mark performance problems with your solar if something fails or if the performance drops from a growing tree due to the shadow.

It also has to recognize the smarts when my hot water will enter with a heat pump at night, and triggers an e -mail proposal to save money by shifting it to the time of day.

It is very smart and will keep an eye on your system, which has a better attention span than this solar electrician.

There are many alternatives to monitoring such as power sensor or clipsal cortex. However, if you have been saved with solar analytics for years, it is a brilliant resource to check the actual performance of your system.

Long -term data is not necessarily and that is invaluable if you have to make a guarantee claim to worsening the panel or about promised sales quotes.
