Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E), a subsidiary of Oklahoma's largest electricity company, is expanding its Choctaw Nation / OG&E solar power center in Durant, Oklahoma, by an additional 5 MW, bringing total solar capacity to 10 MW. OG&E will build, own and operate the additional 5 MW expansion, which is expected to go online by the end of the year.

As with Wind, OG&E built the state's first solar array and was the first in Oklahoma to offer universal solar power to customers with the construction of their solar array at the Mustang Energy Center in Mustang, Okla. Universal Solar offers higher solar performance and the ability for all customers to add solar energy to their personal energy portfolios without the upfront costs or long term maintenance costs for solar roofs. A portion of the Durant solar expansion will be available to all OG&E customers in Oklahoma.
