EDF Renewables North America indicators Solar PPA with BASF
According to EDF Renewables North America, an independent power producer and service provider, the Space City solar project is moving forward with the recent signing of the first tranche of 55 MW AC / 73 MW DC to BASF under a power purchase agreement with development milestones.
The total capacity of the project is up to 345 MW AC / 455 MW DC. Space City Solar in Wharton County, Texas is expected to begin construction in the summer of 2021 and begin delivering clean power in the summer of 2022.
The construction is expected to create approximately 300 jobs, generating more than $ 30 million in new tax revenue over the lifetime of Wharton County's tax authorities.
